Postby aprado » Thu Apr 20, 2017 11:16 pm

looking for some new material, got most of the usual suspects works, i.e of Jacob Boehme, meister eckhart, thomas a'kempis, thomas aquinas etc.

But seeking something a bit different?
I have desired to do good
But i have not desired to make noise
Because i have felt that noise did no good
And that good made no noise.

I'm reading THE ROSICRUCIAN COSMO CONCEPTION by MAX HENDEL. Heavy going, like a lot of this stuff, but enlightening!

Try Charles Williams, a member of the Inklings - with Tolkien and CS Lewis.

"His signature doctrine, co-inherence,... is the idea that Christ’s risen life inhabits believers so that they share the divine interrelationship of the Trinity and live as members of one another. "

I learned a lot from William's novels.

I learn about Crazy Bulk a lot from William's novels.

Sounds interesting. I'll definitely give it a read. Thanks for the suggestion.

Frabato the magician while not masonic offers a good spin.

Transcendental magic by eliphas levi is on my shelf waiting to be read.

Also, and I've nearly finished it. The secret teachings of the ages by manly p hall.

If you want to read something best then read Charles Dickens, H.G Wells etc. They are great authors and their work has inspired me a lot. I have also started writing and I guess it is amazing.

Christian Mysticism is a complex spiritual topic and defies easy definition. Historically, mysticism is defined as hidden, unspeakable, can’t be put into words, an awareness and experience of the reality of God beyond ritual, doctrine, and dogma.

Alan Watts (1915–1973), a British philosopher, put it this way: “The truth that religion, to be of any use, must be mystical has always been denied by the seemingly large number of people, including theologians, who do not know what mysticism is. . . . Its essence is the consciousness of union with God.”
