Dining Stewards

Postby Roo1234 » Sun Aug 11, 2019 3:24 pm

Hi all, Please could any stewards help with ideas on managing the "admin" for the festive board, quite a big lodge with formal dining so a lot to do. Are there any great web sites for instance / management platforms to help manage payments and orders / wine allocation etc etc.

Thanks

have a look at wordpress

It can be an interactive site

Not had cause to use like your request but It does loads of stuff.

Here is one I have been plaing with. https://lodgeroomstore.co.uk/wp/
If I get time I will have a look. But in theory I would bet it could take bookings and payments but do a bit of research and see if it might fit.

Take care! My experience with on-line cloud-based forms generally and in this and other fields indicates that it is unwise to rely on them. Nice to have but keep a paper record back-up. When they do go down, it happens at exactly the worst possible moment - Murphy's Law! The ProvGM and his team are coming and you cannot download the table plan. The wifi is off at the hall and caterer cannot get your instructions. etc., etc.!

Best of luck!

He just uses this for people to book in with. He uses PerfectTablePlan to do the offline/place allocation tracking.

OK but I stand by my warning. A couple of years ago my dining wallah was unable to access the bookings and eventually they were somehow lost. Big meeting, big pain, lesson learned. Nothing wrong with pigeon post - you can always eat the pigeon!
