Northampton lodge?

Postby simm1978 » Fri Oct 12, 2018 3:41 pm

Hello brothers.
I am looking for somebody within the Northamptonshire area who can set me in good stead as to where the Northamptonshire lodges are and who to contact if possible?
My great great grandfather was a mason during the mid to late 1800s and I have been looking into the history of masonry and find it fascinating yet it seems the perfect place to meet like minded people and life long friends!
Thankyou
Simon

Welcome simm1978.

The country is divided up into masonic 'provinces' and you indicate that you are in Northamptonshire. Contact details for your provincial office are:

Provincial Grand Secretary
Michael C.A. Caseman-Jones

Address
Freemasons’ Hall
Sheaf Close
Lodge Farm
Northampton
NN5 7UL

Tel: 01604 584213

Give him a call during normal working hours and the Provincial Grand Secretary will have a word with you and suggest one or two lodges that may be suitable for you.

Every best wish.

Hi Simon,

Before moving up North, I was a member of Abington Lodge No: 8041, it is a nice friendly lodge and i am sure you would enjoy it there.

Regards,
Alan

I only just noticed that this thread was a year old! LOL! Then I notice that a lot of threads are even older, it seems this subject is not very well used, however, to answer your question...

"Up North" being Wakefield, so for the last 10 years (with a 3 year work break in between) I have been a happy member of Sincerity Lodge No 1019 in the Province of Yorkshire West Riding, my transfer was all arranged for me by my Abington Lodge Secretary and as luck would have it the Secretary of my new lodge resided in the village I had moved to, so it looked like fate to me! All I had to do was re-learn all my UGLE ritual, it came as quite a shock to find our ritual up here was the same...but different!
