Rejoining the Royal Arch

Postby Lazza21 » Mon Apr 06, 2015 12:31 pm

After resigning from the Royal Arch more than 20 years ago I am joining Greenhithe Chapter No.5449 this Wednesday.
I have forgotten all I ever knew (40) and will be like the exaltee on the day my proposer has had to coach (1)
me in the basics.

The secrets were lost but will be regained in a somewhat dramatic form the more forcibly to impress on your minds the Providential means by which those ancient secrets were regained.

If you want to witness the Holy Royal Arch of Jerusalem the way you probably first enjoyed it, now you have to come to Canada to see it. Pity

Or possibly to Scotland, where we still have the Mark, Excellent Masters and Exaltation as the three degrees of Royal Arch (apart of course from the Installation of the Principals).

What you call the Excellent Masters we do as part of the HRAoJ and just call it the veils. We have the Mark as the first of the three degrees (actually the MMM) as they include the Mark and the Mark Master as only one ceremony now. We call it being advanced. So we don't do the EM as a separate ceremony, instead we do what we call the Most Excellent Master (not to be confused with another ceremony of the same name that isn't done here) in Canada. Neville Cryer-Barker while still with us, claimed it to be what was called in the 1700s as the "Arch". Apparently one of the Degrees still held by the HRATPs but never done anymore.

Ah to win the lottery and be able to witness all the degrees in England/Wales; Scotland and Ireland. I'm getting too old; wouldn't remember enough to share with those who are younger.
