GLOI member joining SRIA

Brethen,

I was recently affiliated to the GLOI.
Now that I am living in a British Isles, I was pretty sure, I'd easily find SRIA's colleges elsewhere, but it seems to me now that Ireland is a fateful exception.
Could any of you kindly confirm that there is no way for me to join SRIA living in Dublin, unless being forced to travel to Scotland, Britain etc?
Not even North Ireland would be an option ?

Thanks in advance !

There are no SRIA or SRIS Colleges in Ireland. A few years ago a small group tried to set up an SRIH (Hibernia), but neither the English nor the Scottish Societies supported it and the Grand Lodge of Ireland proscrobed it. I haven't heard about it for some time.

Thank you Eric,
If so, what are the options ?
Only travelling to Britain or Scotland?
'Cause it's a in-person thing, right?

Scotland is in Britain!
However, your only current option is to travel to Scotland or England.

Peter, you beat me to it!

Jua, it really depends on whether there is anywhere in Scotland of England that you have some connections or where you would find it easiest to travel to.

It's probably easier for you to join in London. Flights from Dublin are relatively cheap and keep in mind that most Colleges meet 3 times a year. You need to come at least one time a year, which is quite doable I guess.

Don't forget though, that Great Britain is the conglomerate of England, Wales and Scotland. The UK (to give it its full title) is 'The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland'.

Neither Mark nor HRA are a requirement for SRIA,SRIS or SRICF (America). The only requirement is Master Mason and a belief in the Christian Trinitarian Faith.

Thanks !

Just in case: how do the "lodges" of SRIA intercommunicate? Are you bonded to one for life? Is there any sense to visit another one whenever you're in a different county/city/dimension? (it's a joke, guys, a joke (45) ) Is their program/teachings virtually similar/the same?

Visiting is pretty much the same as in Masonic Orders. You will be able to be present when any Grade up to your is being done. There is a standard ritual which makes the workings at one College the same as in any other. There was an agreement many years ago that the SRIA and SRIS would work the same ritual but at some point, someone in SRIA decided to embellish some of the lectures. Some of these are now optional so that the two Societies are again working similar rituals.

I was intending coming with the SM, but he has a hospital appointment and family commitments have conspired against me too. Our apologies Fr! Have a good meeting!
