It is possible to create extra sections to be used only as mentoring sections , if that is thought to be a good idea.

As I attempted to express above, LodgeRoonUK was one of serveral excellent sites extant that mentored me, as I'm sorry to say the PMs of our Lodges had the ancient idea that those that had been Freemasons longer somehow know more than those that were junior in years as masons.
After several years a brother and sitting in the East in differnt units, I can tell you that those who are junior (not necessarily by age) have by their studies before giving three distinct knocks can teach me and by extension, many here, the truth of what being a Freemason consists of. Giving to charity without getting their pictures taken or some bling for it; taking a new EA under his wing and introducing him to different Lodges, types of ritual, and visiting our older members that are either home or hospital bound.

It was the first few years of the internet craze and good and autherntic authours were available to read on different sites. Hence I bought their books: Neville Barker-Cryer; W. Kirk Macnulty; Robert L.D. Cooper; Bernard E Jones; Colin Dyer; Andrew Prescott; every edition of AQC I could lay my hands on. All those authours in their several different books. And that's just one bookcase of three I have. Availablility to the Library at GL of BC & Y, which of course can't compare with GQS, and on and on.

The issue of how do we vet masons. UGLE produces a page as does BC & Y and every other GL that it considers regular and recognized. Each and every Grand Jurisdiction in the World, not just the Home Jurisdictions of England/Wales, Scotland and Ireland have committees that spend much time and inter-jurisdictional discussion on who is and who is not recognized. These masons I trust to do their job to the nth degree and so not a concern for here. I could list the brethren just from the Home Lodges that I've sat beside in Lodge; but I won't or we will end up with an endless exercise of name-dropping. I appreciate your concern and candor. If somehow a cowan sneaks through, well, we'll deal with it then.

I'm not sure if Admin needs to create more links for mentorship only; but so far he hasn't been wrong.

As I said to the Grand Master, the Duke I just hate it when people just drop names.

and will probably see him again next thursday at GLoS
Can you/ anyone here confirm his position in UGLE?
He's shy and Ive never pushed it
( I also often visit his mother lodge and sit quite close but the subject hasnt come up there)

If you look at the GLos yearbook, you will see that Archie is a Past Senior Grand Warden of UGLE, and like Marcus Humphrey, I think he actually served as SGW (rather than it being what we would call an Honorary PSGW).

2010 to be precise - and yes; it was an active rank.

Great thread guys.

Our Lodge Mentor oversees the mentoring carried out by individual, personal mentors within our Lodge, or which there are around 8 of us.

I currently have the privilege to be the personal mentor for 4 guys, but I’d like to develop my own mentoring skills.
