Query on resigning from Royal Arch

Hypothetically, if a Companion wanted to leave Royal Arch, would that impact memberships in other orders like KT?

I understand that Chapter membership is required to join KT, but if someone is already a KT member, is it possible to resign from Chapter without affecting KT membership?

This is not a plan to cheat the system or anything as I’ve actually been a member of Chapter for a couple of years and I have already petitioned for KT. For a while now I’ve felt disconnected from my mother lodge, leading to recently having a complete loss of enthusiasm for progressing through the chair in a couple of years. To rekindle my interest in Freemasonry, I had been contemplating joining KT, an idea I’ve entertained since I joined Craft and possibly the only reason I’ve stuck around. After some contemplation, I’ve decided it might be better to become a country member for both Craft and Royal Arch whilst I focus on KT and re-evaluate what to do in a few years down the line. After further contemplation in the last few days, I’m now considering resigning from the Royal Arch entirely because for me it was only ever a stepping stone to KT.

The detachment issues are mostly my problem and not really related to any particular members of my lodge and Chapter so there isn’t really a way of fixing anything. It just pains me that I’m not close enough to any remaining member that I could trust to ask something like this, especially with me being part of the attached Chapter so I’m hoping it reads well and makes sense. Thanks in advance for anyone who is able to answer my query because I can’t find a clear answer anywhere.

Hi, it depends where you are a member.
In England KT, Mark, etc are run from Mark Masons Hall so are independant from UGLE.
I am in the process of resigning from RA Chapter but as I am already a member of Mark it is ok.
If you wanted to join KT I would join 1st then resign from RA as you would need to put the RA No on your application form. Just my thoughts.

Thank you Peter, your response is a great help and very much appreciated.

Luckily I’ve already been petitioned and I’m waiting for the Summons of my first meeting/ Installation. Hopefully I will see that come in before next years dues are to be paid. If not then I’ll just have to cover the years dues as a country member for both and deal with it this time next year.

I’m in the East Lancs province. Based on your signature is it safe to say you’re in Kent?
