Twinning ceremony

Postby Peter Dowling » Sun May 14, 2017 10:47 am

I attended a Twinning ceremony at a Mark Lodge on Fri at which I was an official escort for the PGM.
This twinning was with an Italian Mark Lodge and members from Italy attended with the District Deputy Grand Master and other various retinue.
It was a great ceremony with a translator assisting.
The ceremony ended with 2 large certificates, one in each language being signed on a square table with a white table cloth in the centre of the Lodge room. Sat at the table was the PGM of Kent, the DDGM of Italy and the 2 WMs of both Lodges.
The National anthem of both countries was sung at the end.
Gifts were exchanged and promises of visits and regular contact was made.
Festive board was attended by 70 and a great time was had.
A very enjoyable experience.
