Hi Eckywan

I am planning on Attending Sir Robert Moray tomorrow afternoon (will probably stay for St. Davids too), I'm not going to Grand Lodge.

Fingers crossed we can have a bit of a chin wag.

of what use are flambeaux, torches and spectacles to him who shuts his eyes so as not to see?

Eckywan , I am sure the RAF can let me go for that one (although I am currently in South Oman hence why I missed my Mark at No 10)
I usually take a bit if leave in August so I'll probably be there. If it's a military degree, do servicemen wear uniform?

I'll give you a call when I'm back in the UK

There have been a number of enquires and this fledging site 'BRITISH MILITARY FREEMASONS Serving and Ex' is now over 200 members on Facebook.
It is a HIDDEN site on Facebook, so you won't find it by searching.
To join you must message AXEL TRENCHARDTAX FOLEY and ask to join. He will ask you a coupe of questions and then add you.
Any serving or ex is entitled to join, any Corps, Army, Navy, or Royal Air Force, serving or ex regular or ex reservist (ex TA or serving TA very welcome)
It is quite a lively site
Axel also does a number of item of a Armed Forces and Freemason nature for sale: corps and freemason rugby shirts, cuff links, BMF badges. he in investigating a ring for members.
A Number of people have messaged ME, but you must message AXEL who will tyle you.
The site is investigating the possibilty or desirability of starting a travelling lodge. This may, or may not happen.
The avergae age seems quite low!

Delighted to say I'm going to be proposing an RM into my mother lodge this evening - he's currently serving, but leaves in a month or so's time. Also interviewed an RM a few days ago and have recommended him to one of the other Cambridge lodges.

This Facebook group (British Military Freemasons Serving and Ex) is growing fast, and with a much lower than usual age demographic. It is one of the signs that decline is certainly not inevitable. There is talk of an future article in Freemasonry Today and further down the line maybe a travelling lodge. It is a very lively site and a super use of social media. There is a badge, tie clip and cuff links available to members, and a similar set can be made for any Corps in the Army, Navy or RAF - Corps plus BMF insignia.
