There’s construction going on at the Masonic Village at Elizabethtown.

That’s not unusual.

There almost always is, if not here then at one of the other four Masonic Village locations in Pennsylvania.

When you serve more than 2,800 residents, your market is expanding and your headquarters campus in western Lancaster County was established more than a century ago, there’s going to be a lot of building to do.

The rate of work ebbs and flows, depending on the economy, CEO Joseph Murphy said.

Lately, it has ramped up.

Masonic Villages — in full, The Masonic Villages of the Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania — always has an eye on the future, he said.

As Americans age into retirement, each generation’s needs and desires are a little different.
