Greetings from Amsterdam

Postby Cenwulf » Sat Jan 14, 2017 8:58 am

Hi,

I'm an English Mason, currently living in Amsterdam. My Craft lodge is in Rotterdam. We work under the Grand East of the Netherlands, but unlike other Dutch lodges we use Emulation, in English. My mother lodge was in Manchester (recently handed in it's warrant), where I also joined RA. I'm also in a Scottish RA Chapter in Germany, a RA Chapter, Mark Lodge and Scottish Rite Lodge in Rotterdam, as well as KT and KTP elsewhere in the Netherlands. I'm joining SRIA later this month in London. I may have a Masonic habit (27)

Hey, I'm a member of 3 lodges, 3 chapters, 2 Rose Croix chapters, 1 Mark, 1 RAM, 2 KT preceptories, 1 Tabernacle, 1 ROS Province, until last June I was Assistant Secretary for the Province, I'm the year book editor for the Province, I'm a DC, JW (possibly going through the chair again) and have 2 boys of 11 & 8. I'm out with one or other of the boys for sport every day of the week except Wednesday evenings (and that includes Sunday mornings - rugby), so I can hardly comment! And I turn 60 at the end of April.

Although admittedly I joined all bar ROS whilst I was single.

Thank you, Bro:. Richard!
... so there is still hope for me (38)

I was overseas for a whole year, and as soon as I came back to Sydney, within two weeks I got invited to 3 additional Orders (28)
With these I am definitely completing my circle and have gained access to all mainstream Orders I was interested in... now let's see what is on the fringe side of Masonry (29)

Be that as it may, Bro:. Cenwulf, can you tell us a little about the Rose Croix as practiced with the Grand East of the Netherlands?
About 6 years ago I have read A.C.F. Jackson's "Rose Croix" and vaguely remember him mentioning the Dutch Rose Croix being somewhat different (!?)
