Greetings from the North

Postby NewFreemason » Wed Nov 02, 2016 6:43 am

Hi everyone,

After a few years of debating with myself over whether I should become a Freemason or not, I finally did so in October this year after being initiated as an EA. To be honest, I suppose I always thought it was a bit 'old fashioned' but I was very pleasantly surprised to find other Masons even younger than I am (early 30's). The fact that I can associate with good people, with good intentions, is probably what I am most happy about. During my initiation and afterwards, I felt very humbled, especially after being asked to sit to the right of the WM - to experience such hospitality from those who are still essentially strangers to me, is a very rare feeling indeed. It is a remarkable experience.

I hope to get the opportunity to meet more people here.

Welcome to the forum. It's always good to hear the feelings of a new brother. Your feeling of humility is one that is shared by us all. You use the word 'strangers' - you will find there are no strangers in Freemasonry, just your brothers you have yet to meet, wherever in the world you go!
