Thanks everyone. I'll let you know how it goes on Saturday 5 March. It's going to be a busy night, with four to Raise and three to Pass!

'Night' being figurative of course given INUL's shift is much like one of my wife's shifts - 2 'til 10 ... (27)
(slight exaggeration, but not by much!)

That really isn't much of an exaggeration, either: it's a 4.30pm start for the Craft lodge. Those in Mark and Chapter (which will include me next Term) have an 11am start!

David; what's the plan for next Saturday? Passings then Raisings or vice versa? If the Raisings are first and I can persuade the wife for a pass, I might be able to pop along and support you.

Richard, that'd be great. Yes, Raisings first. We'll open the lodge at 4.30 sharp, do the four Raisings, and call off just before six. Sure you can't stay for the Passings, and then dinner?

We have a visiting delegation from Apollo Lodge, in The Other Place, and also from the Assistant Grand Master. Isaac Newton Saturday meetings are dinner jacket and black bow tie. So, best bib and tucker at the ready!

Mmm. A bit too late unfortunately; she's in for an op tomorrow, and a 6 'call off' is too late as I'll need to get the boys' dinners around 5 (she'll be on crutches for about 2-3 weeks we understand).
Ah well, can't be helped - perhaps we'll meet on another occasion.

Well, the day of my Raising has come round quickly, and the lodge opens at 4.30pm sharp, with seven candidates: four to Raise, and three to Pass. And, as if that's not pressure enough, we will have visitors from Apollo Lodge in The Other Place, and the Assistant Grand Master!
