Greetings from a hopeful future mason.

Postby jackryork » Sat Feb 14, 2015 4:07 pm

Just thought I would do a quick post to say hello! I have been in the process of learning about freemasonry for over a year now but haven't yet contacted my local lodge in York because I am going to university in september and don't want to get involved in the lodge when I can't commit to it.
I hope to learn a lot from the people on here and just have interesting interactions with you all.
All the best, Jack

Welcome, Jack.
Did you know that there is a Universities Scheme with a Lodge affiliated to many universities? There's a web site at www.universitiesscheme.com.

Among the benefits of joining a Lodge in the Universities Scheme are that you are likely to have lower fees and, if you are under 21, that's about the only way you could join anyway. Universities Scheme Lodges have, if necessary, altered their meeting times to fit in with the University timetables and other matters. You are quite likely to find other members of your University there already as members.

If, later in life, you move away from there, you will, of course, be able to join a Lodge nearer to where you are - perhaps even your old school 's Lodge as many do.

A warm welcome from me to.
University scheme lodges seem great. We regularly have one visit the lodge I'm in and it's always nice to see them making friends for life from other ends of the country. They also help me bring down the average age of the lodge I'm in. Lol.
