Bradford reporting in

Postby Simmo961 » Wed Nov 13, 2013 9:53 am

Hello Bretheren,

I just joined the board. I am a Fellow Craft at the Lodge of Hope 302 in Bradford.

I am looking forward to chatting to you all and being an active member of the board. Currently I am learning my oath and obligation and questions for becoming a MM next year sometime. (Seemingly it is quite unusual around these parts for masons when going through a degree ceremony to have to recite both the oath & obligation as well as the questions but thats how my lodge does it and it was certainly quite a task to learn the first).

I am looking forward to becoming a MM as I travel a lot with work and can start visiting lodges when I am working away for weeks at a time instead of sitting in my hotel room.

I have also just introduced my son to Freemasonry as he just started at Bradford University and my lodge is the university lodge so he can be initiated at 18 years old as we have special dispensation to do this. We have 8 university members already which brings the average age of the lodge right down.

Happy to be here and chatting to you all.

There is no need to wait until MM. If you can find a Lodge doing a 1st or 2nd on your travels you can make arrangements to visit. You will need a letter from your Lodge Sec "To whom it may concern" confirming that you are member of the Lodge and a FC. I did so when I was a FC and I visited quite a few Lodges in my Province and further afield - Guernsey and Jersey for example.

Welcome to the List
Yours sincerely and fraternally
