The Organist Entertains

Postby OrganumPlenum » Tue Nov 05, 2013 3:39 pm

Hello !

New member on this forum, thought i'd say hello on this particular section to make myself known.

Been interested in Freemasonry since secondary school, having been a volunteer at Beamish Museum as their Organist, and a lot of this time was spent playing the small organ in their reconstructed Masonic Hall they had there, this was the start of it all, and brings me to today, having moved to Melton Mowbray to become voicer for an organ building firm down here, and just turned 21, i've been involved with Leicester Masonic Hall since my moving down here, and this coming Thursday, I will be put to open ballot in open lodge, having been through all the other procedure beforehand over the course of this year. So i'm hoping I pass through that without any issue ! Pending this, my initiation will be in December, no idea what to expect but I think that is the way I prefer it !

Look forward to speaking to you all at some point

Welcome and I look forward to your ballot being successful and your initiation.

Several lodges have to resort to MP3s for their music so a human is to be preferred!

Never heard the organ played when I visited Beamish (as a non Mason) so must return especially now that I am one! (19)

Thank you all for the very kind welcome messages !

Apparently my lodge ballot is happening ON the night of my initiation, not tonight, not sure how that works, but never mind ! Should be a very good night. Its quite funny how lots of big things seem to happen in ones life all together, my turning 21, anniversary of moving from my native geordieland, and masonic initiation are all going on within the space of three months !

Anyone who fancies coming to an initiation night, let me know.

Some Lodges ballot in advance and some do it on the night (on the night is my own experience).

If the Lodge Committee has interviewed you and are happy to progress your candidacy then it should be a formality when you are invited to attend for Initiation.

That is providing there are no members present who know you and have their own reasons for giving you a black ball. This should be quite rare, however.

In the unlikely event of you being blackballed (the numbers of black balls required vary between Lodges) you would simply be informed that the ballot was not in your favour and asked to leave.

In the much more likely event of the ballot being in your favour then your special night can begin in earnest. (7)

Well, I just got back home ... WHAT an evening ! Still absorbing everything that was passed on to me tonight, but there were a lot of visitors in attendance tonight, and the ceremony went through wonderfully. Now an EA in Highcross Lodge 4835, Leicester Masonic Hall. And very much look forward to my future in the lodge, and masonry in general.

A pleasure to welcome you as a Brother!

Try and see another First as soon as you can, it will help you to understand your own ceremony that much better. (14)
