Any reccomendations on literature?

Welcome, from east kent myself!
I have desired to do good
But i have not desired to make noise
Because i have felt that noise did no good
And that good made no noise.

That's a difficult one to answer. I have good friends who are desperate for me to join everything. They love all the different orders and know that I would like them. Generally, it is good to get a second opinion from someone else in your lodge.

Welcome to LRUK
With regards to the "Orders beyond the Craft" (never use the term "Side Orders" - that is a salad) the problem with asking someone else is they will only tell you what they like or their own experience. What works for them may not work for you. Some love Chapter, some love Mark, some love Royal Ark Mariners but find Mark a waste of time.

the best thing to do is to look at the book "Beyond the Craft" and once you have decided what particular path interests you then speak to people.
Ignore anyone who tells you that you should first wait until you have been in the Craft for a few years first, only you can decide when you are ready

Thank you bro. You know how it is, with orders beyond the craft being mentioned. Your advice lines up with my thinking. I will purchase that book and read before i choose.

Thank you

Welcome from East Kent. You will get asked to join Royal arch from your craft lodge next but I love Mark.
Ask people who attend both. Everyones different in their choices.
Good luck.
Mark Well.

Thanks peter. Someone from our temple mentioned mark before royal arch. I'm gonna wait I've decided. Go through the chair of my mother lodge first.

Welcome from sunny Leith
Slow down, enjoy your mother lodge and learn from there
Its ritual and conversations with you ain folk with point you in your search for more light
More importantly visit others and network.
I know its mair difficult in deepest darkest England but there are good people there and you have already heard from some
so follow up their intros with a visit to their lodges.
thyen when you are ready for real freemasonry visit us in Scotland !

fraternal greetings

In all honesty, if you're planning on joining another order, I wouldn't wait until you've been through the chair. Join, but don't take office would be my recommendation.
