I pay my annual dues, my weekly collection, plus a donation, all by monthly standing order.

I thoroughly enjoy the festive board and am happy to pay, although I don't dine in London too often.

My mother lodge now offers monthly payments but our dining fees are also included

Our dining fees went up because a previous WM want installation festive board to include wine

As 50% of the brethren drive they cannot take advantage

That's not right - dining members are not supposed to subsidise the meal. Payment for lodge guests should come from the general account, and therefore from the membership as a whole.

all our visitors are guests
and meal cost vary fron £2 to £5
with visitors not paying
( but generally donating via raffle / swindle)

but its all changing with influence from snobs mentioned elsewhere as well

I keep getting asked to join a fine dining lodge in London at £55.00 per head, no drinks.
It's not the money but I always come away hungry!
I do like a decent nosh to fill me up! (7)
